“A key element to protecting data is to know where it is.” This is what I told techbubbles.co.uk in an interview in reference to the number of requests made for access to Google data by governments around the world.
I believe that the issue of where data is stored is something that many business neglect to monitor as closely as they should. With an increasing reliance on cloud (overall a good thing in my opinion) there are occasions where companies are unaware of exactly where their data is stored and who has access to it. This is a risk, especially where data is confidential or is something you do not want competitors to get hold of.
